Unresponsive GAIN on 1 mixer when using Stagebox and 2 mixers.

My set up is an Expression 2 for FOH (master board), an Expression 1 for backstage/live-stream (slave board), and a Stagebox. Everything seems to work great with this set up, but the GAIN is not responsive on the "slave" board. Is this a default set up when using two boards with a Stagebox? My concern is that we have no control over the input levels and will experience some channels clipping while others are too quiet thus.
Has anyone experienced this? Any ideas or solutions?

With your slave board, you might get a trim control at most. If you need both boards to have independent gain control then consider an analog split with a stage box for each board.
