8-FX outputting Stereo to headphones, but my Macbook is only receiving Mono

Hey everyone. I've been trying to figure out how to split my output into Left and Right so I can edit my two mics separately for a podcast. I've panned both inputs appropriately and I'm able to experience the stereo panning in my headphones, but when I connect my USB to my Macbook, it's only receiving the input as Mono. No matter how I pan, my recording program acts as though nothing is panned, giving equal signal to both sides. I've tried this on Audacity and Garageband and cannot figure out how to fix the issue. If you know a solution, or need me to explain clearer, I'd love to hear from you. Thanks!
