Newbie question regarding recording with ableton - mtk series

Hi! I'm going to buy either the 12 or the 22 mtk. I have a band with 3 singers, 3 guitars, 1 electric drumkit, 1 piano. I saw in a youtube video that mtk series record 1/2 and 3/4 and 5/6... as stereo channels, so in the end you have half as much recording channels so to speak. My question: can I split the incoming 1/2 (e.g. two singers' two mics) in ableton 10 lite, and then make stereo channels from each mono channels?

Whether the channels are recorded as mono or stereo pairs is a function of your selection in the DAW. These appear on ASIO or Mac Core Audio as individual channels from the Soundcraft Signature MTK. I don't use Ableton Lite but believe it should have the ability to choose whether the inputs are paired (stereo) or mono

Ableton Lite is very... Lite! Only accepts 2 inputs and has only two outputs (Master). To have access to more channel inputs/outputs upgrade to Standard. Else, check out Reaper.
