U24i matrix send of a subgroup only sends right channel

I have a need to create an aux send that excludes some channels, so I created a subgroup that includes specific channels. The problem I have is that only anything panned to the right shows up in the matrix. If I use the master mix instead of the subgroup, then a stereo mixdown to mono shows up accurate. Anyone run into this and have a solution? This is not the case in one aux output, they all behave this way and only so when using subgroups to matrices.
