Soundcraft Si Performer using Madi/USB and Dante option cards

I don't have the Dante card yet, but I have been playing with the offline configurator in the modules and routing section. I put the Dante card in SLOT 2, when I try and connect the outputs to the last block (97-128), I get an error stating that it is outside the I/O parameters. If I put the Dante card in SLOT1, I get full access to bi-directional on channels 1-64. I have read through Soundcraft's Dante card documentation and there is no mention of having to install the card in a specific slot. Just curious to know if people out there are recording 64 channels and what slot they have their Dante card in.

    Hey there.
I was having trouble with my Si Performer 3 a few years ago, ended up on the phone with a Soundcraft/Harmon tech. He said the board really prefers the Dante card to be in Slot 1. This gives you 64x64. If you put it in Slot 2, you get a max of 64x32 if I remember correctly. My MADI card is now in Slot 2.
Also, if you plan to have your board slave to the Dante network for clock (that's how I run it/my MTRX Studio is master), then you need to set the clocking to OPT 1 (option card 1). This tells the board its getting its clock from that Dante card, which is getting its slave/master info from Dante Controller. Hope that helps!
  • That makes sense on both the slots and the clocking. I appreciate the feedback. Thanks much.
