UI24r distortion and clipping

The first time I have used this UI24r and the main output was so distorted I could only use the main fader to about halfway. None of the input channels were anywhere near clipping. Does anyone have a cure? I have been using a UI16 for about 5 years without issues..

    check the comp gain in the input channel or master bus.
