Ui24R Dead?

Over the weekend, my 4 year old Ui24R starting producing loud banging noises through the speakers. The unit has operated continuously with no problem. It is powered through a quality surge protector. I no longer had a network connection and couldn't connect to the unit. . The Wifi light was not on. The only visible lights were a slow flashing of the two lights on either side of the Ethernet port. I powered down and unplugged the unit to no avail. I tried a network reset and then a Master Factory reset with no success. Am I correct that the unit is dead and ready to go back to the factory for repair?

    You can’t see even the booting process light at the master LR side?
